News Release: Murphy Veterans Tribute 2025

The Murphy Veterans Tribute has been a labor of love since 2017, when a group of local citizens gathered after a Chamber of Commerce meeting and said, “Let’s create something special to honor our Veterans right here in Murphy.” That spark of an idea brought people together and in the next few years, we officially became the Murphy Veterans Tribute and soon after formed a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—the Murphy Veterans Tribute Association.Over the years, we’ve dreamed, planned, designed and redesigned as we’ve grown our support and resources. Then, in mid-2025, something exciting happened: the City of Murphy offered us a special location—a beautiful land site just east of City Hall—and donated this land to our cause. This location is ideal for what we’ve always envisioned: a place to honor Veterans in Murphy and beyond–to all who have served our country.

A Moment to Celebrate: On November 13, 2025, we made an exciting announcement at the Murphy Chamber of Commerce Veterans Luncheon, celebrating a generous $17,500 donation from Dr. Lorraine Chalky. This contribution will support the funding of the beautiful bronze statue that will serve as the centerpiece of our tribute. We are deeply grateful and thrilled!Between the Collin County Parks Department Grant, support from the City of Murphy, and the amazing generosity of so many Patriots who’ve given their money, time, and talents, we’re excited to say we’re planning to dedicate the Murphy Veterans Tribute by mid-2026!

Join Us in Honoring Our Heroes: We continue to offer the  Memorial Brick Pavers (8″ x 8″) that will become a permanent part of the Tribute park. It’s a beautiful way to honor a veteran who’s touched your life. Please visit www.murphyveteranstribute.org to learn more and see how easy it is to order a paver.Thank you again for helping us share this mission. Together, we’re building something truly beautiful and significant!
